A Tower, A Square, and A Garden
. I did find some boots and was sure to take the tube instead of try to walk home from the store so it was shorter on the way back and I did not get lost. On Friday my friend Angela and I went to Trafalgar Square to take some pictures on the lions and go see the National Portrait Gallery. It was a beautiful day and made for some great pictures. We then decided since it was such a nice day to wander over to Covent Garden and look around. It was such fun there. We passed many quaint and pretty shops. There was even a restaurant that had live opera singers and we stopped and listened for a while. We looked in a few stores and stumbled upon a man with an 8ft unicycle and watch him for a while as well. That night Angela and I also planned some of our trips. We planned some weekend trips like one at the end of this month to Prague, one to Amsterdam in March, and one to Berlin in April. We hope to get online and book them officially tonight. On Saturday I was off to Bath but I'll save that for another entry to come soon.
Love to my friends and family <3
On Thursday I went to The Tower of London with my class. It was a lot of fun and a very informative trip. We walked in and went directly to the White Tower. The White Tower was put up by the Romans when they invaded London to watch over the city and protect it from invasions. It later became a prison fortress to hold such prisoners as Thomas Moore and Anne Boleyn (one of Henry VIII wives who was executed there). The Tower is beautifully constructed and survived World War II for it is believed to have been used by German planes as a landmark to help them find bombing sights. It was such fun to walk around and learn about the tower with the rest of my class and my professor. I stayed on after our walk with a few people to tour the crown jewels exhibit and it was so beautiful. After our field trip I deiced to go shopping on my own on Oxford Street in search of some new boots, my old one's spurning a leak. For the first time I got pretty lost. I tried to walk there and took a wrong turn. It took me an extra 30mins than it should have to find the street and when I did I was on the opposite end from what I wanted
