Due to heavy winds and rain our horse back ride to the hot springs and spa was canceled. We had a tractor ride through breathtaking landscape and wildlife. It took us some time to travel over the mountain and through Forrest. We are the only ones at the spa! The first thing we put our cloths away so we could participate in the mud bath! Would not want anyone not there to see our lovely photo's. Our hair, face and body completely covered with mud! We dried then had water fights to get if all off before jumping into the hot springs. The baths, and thermal waters are located on the slopes of the volcano Rincon de la Vieja. We had 12 people in our group so we were small enough to really enjoy everyone! 4 of us traveled together and met 8 new fun congenial people.
Another adventure was exploration by small private boat the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge! This is a reserve to home of hundreds of species of wildlife, and is an important stopping point for many of migrating species of birds. We had with us some local children who helped us plant trees. The children are learning about ecology!
Later we visited a women's butterfly farm, then on to the Turtle Conservation Center.
Our days were filled with fun, interesting, information and lot's of amazing photo's.
