One really interesting idea is the idea of cages -- not for the kids -- but as lockers. Each class of kids has a locker where they leave their things and change into school slippers (shoes). Here are some photos of the schools. Both schools were undergoing summer renovations and updating.
This was another day of marathon lunch (over 2 hours) and dinner. I am stuffed!!!!
Tomorrow we visit a high school and end the day in a wine cellar for wine tasting and, of course, dinner.
Had the opportunity to visit two school today and meet with teachers. School is out, so we didn't actually see any classes. It was very interesting to meet these teachers and have informal discussions on teaching in the Czech Republic. Spent most of our time with a grade 1-9 school with out 300 students and a kindergarten with 80 students. Kindergarten is different here - it is for kids 3-6. AKids can stay there up to age 7 if they aren't socially ready for lst grade -- there has been a trend to hold kids back until age 7 before entering lst grade.
