Well Iīve now made it through 5 days and it has felt more like weeks! I think I forgot to mention in my last entry that I found out the day before I was leaving that I would stay with a family for my first 2 weeks here to get better adjusted. It was a good idea since I was in a new place by myself with a new language that I discovered I was more than a little rusty!
The mother Maria Louisa is very patient and has been helping me get better at my Spanish. She has told me that I am a little better. I think the father Jaun Pablo is a bit frustrated by my language skills, but I am patient and I just ask them to repeat what they said and I eventually get it.
I hated the food in Mexico so I have been pleasantly surprised that the food here has been really good and I like it. I guess I wonīt lose weight by not eating! I have even remembered not to brush my teeth with tap water and so far I havenīt been sick.
I have been off to a slow start, but today I went to the church for them to organize what students would be in each group. Around 80 kids showed up. It was a zoo. And it didnīt help that the pastor who was supposed to be there to decide the groups was 2 hours too late. Of course after we took charge and were almost done he showed up to tell us we hadnīt done it exactly right. Well..... yes my patience wore thin but I am trying to be flexible and go with the flow. It seems like everyone here just goes with the flow and doesnīt worry about anything so I will too.
Classes this week are Wednesday and Thursday. Next week I will travel an hour on Friday to a different city for classes there. This time will all be very challenging for me but I am still happy to be here and looking forward to the next 4 months.
Take care,

remember the F word
There are two 'F' words that will help to get you through, Flexible and Faith. Just a little of each, and prayers from home and I predict you'll come through with many blessings. Our prayers are with you. Stay safe. Michelle
