The one day we were supposed to meet Radec for a train trip to southern Moravia and a wine festival. Late of course we tried to catch the next train and catch Radec and his friends. Not so much luck. We ended up spending 8 hours catching trains, waiting for trains, walking and trying to hitchike in a land where no one speaks English. It was a little stressful and by the afternoon we weren't talking but it was good for a laugh when we finally made it back to Brno and the beer tasted that much better.
We went to Vienna for a couple days too and when leaving Czech Republic, the border guard got on the bus to check everyones passport. He looked at me and then back at the passport and again at me and I'm thinkin what's going on? Then he smiles and says `Bobby Hull....hockey'. They love hockey and beer just like Canadians. What a relief though!
Vienna is another old European city but with Baroque architecture unlike the Gothic architecture of Prague. It's different, trust me. Vienna is famous for music and opera so we got tickets to the symphony and heard some Mozart and Martin. Symphony is awesome and I felt so cultured for being there. A little underdressed but what the hell.
Next day we went for a 3 hour boat cruise on the Danube river. Take my advice. There's no need to see this part of the Danube. It's a long river. Go to Hungary to see it or somewhere else. Not Vienna.
This was the most boring and pointless 3 hours of my life. Even some of the senior citizens on the boat looked bored and pissed that they spent the money for that.
Back to Brno say good bye to Bernice and then catch a night train to Munich. No sleep, got here at 5:30 AM and ended up sleeping on a couch in reception at the hostel. Oktoberfest was over a couple weeks ago. Kinda glad I missed it to be honest. I needed the break. More from Munich in my next update. I should get caught up soon.
