We decided to check out Manitou Springs, CO on the suggestion of Ruby Tuesday manager TJ. He told us about the neat town with the working penny arcade that still had penny machines in operation. The town has 8 natural carbonated water springs that all taste different. We tasted water from three or four of the springs. The water filtered through limestone for 20,000 years prior to coming to the surface. The pinball machines were like ones in both Susan's and my early years. I got my skills back after playing 10 or so games on different machines. The machines were one play for 5 or 10 cents or 3 plays for a quarter. We played alternate balls and against each other. Some of the machines had really tired flippers and bumpers. Some played great. Just like they used to when I was a kid. Susan played Skeeball as well. The arcade had a forest of 10 cent rides like outside supermarkets. Some were more elaborate than I remembered.
