June 24, 2009:
Hello family and friends..Hopefully we will get a chance to update you on our trip..We are heading to Buffalo for the night and then tommorrow off to Singapore...
June 26, 2009
We
land just after midnight on Friday, so actually Saturday this of course
being Singapore time which will be just after noon on Friday day here.Hello everyone, hope you are all able to read. We have arrived after
a very long - 24 hours in the sky but 36 hours of travel as we are now
12 hours ahead of all of you. The first flight buffalo to chicago we
dont really count as it was quick
well the kids and I, Steve managed to fit in a beer, and then headed to
Tokoyo. For a brief period, we - Joe and I thought of upgrading but
that would have been an additianal $3000 per ticket - we decided not
to. Settled in for the 12 hour flight - pnly some sleep as it was
daylight the whole way and had 3 meals. Arrived in Tokoyo all very
tired at about 3:50 pm on Friday. Had a 2 hour stop and then board
Japan Air for Singapore for another 7 hours. Plane was not busy, so we
were able to spread out and sleep. I think we all have now seen several
movies.Buffy was there to pick us up. Got all of her lugguge in
her small car and headed to there house, where Mark greeted us. Kids
wanted to stay up but it was 1:00 am. stayed awake to chat, and have a
drink and then all wnet to bed to try and get on Singapore time
condo in comple, stinking hot here and it is now 7:44 am, birds are
chirping, and I think probably already 32 degrees. Mark's neice and
nephew arrive today from Toronto - this am and then we are off to
sightsee.Bye for now.June 29, 2009 - I think,We hope you all recieve this and am sorry if getting again - we are using a new bolg which is hopefully easier. It remain stinking hot here. We have swam alot in the condo pool, have had dinner at an asian restaurant well some did - Carly and I had trouble finding something. Dinner out is very costly here as everything is, accomodations and vehicles - almost $50,000 canadian for the smallest car - a Hundai which would propbably be very cheap at home. While at dinner we saw the harbour wear all the ships line up for port - almost looks like a mainland as there are so many.Yesterday we did a bump boat tour through the singapore river, lunch at hooters on the river - not my choice and walking around Clarke Quay which is the nightly hot spot.I should mention that the night before - Mark took Steve out to a few bars - one of which was a transgender club with apparently cross dressers would have like to have seen that.Last night we did the night safari, which the kids enjoyed.Everyone is getting alone and we are enjoying our time here, the kids always have something to do as Aidan is 8, Declan is 10, and Mark's niece - Brianna is 15 and Adam is 17, they and Car and Joe share a room.Today we are going to go on a hop on hop off bus around the area - hopefully to the world famous hotel Raffles - though we had not hear of it for a Slingapore Sling and then tonight off to Borneo.I will hopeully update again after Borneo.
bye.
