Aunt Suzanne found a 3 island cruise in the Western islands in the newspaper, so we decided to go.  We took a bus from George Square in Glasgow to the dock in Largs.  I got to see a lot of the countryside.  There are some similarities to Alberta but it is quite different.  The farms are full of sheep and cows and they are separated usually by a stone wall with hedges growing around them.  It is prettier than the fences in Alberta!  The farm houses are old and little cottages.

Just before we boarded the ship it started to rain and got quite cold.  I was very thankful that I bought the rain jacket!  It has come in handy in rainy Scotland.  The Waverley is the oldest sea going Steamer in the world.  In the centre of the ship you can see the gears working (it was warm here!).  We spent most of our time inside looking at the islands.  It was overcast but I still go to see the sheep hanging from the side of mountains and the little villages/summer cottages along the coast.

It was a cold day and we got back home and had a nice hot bowl of chili!
