Today we headed East to Edinburgh the capital of Scotland. The train station was huge and we had to climb a very long steep hill to get to street level. We took the hop on / hop off bus here also. It seems to be the best way to visit the cities here.
Edinburgh Castle is in the centre of the city and again there is a steep hill to climb to get to the top. It is on the top of a street called the Royal Mile. This street is full of shops. Aunt Suzanne and I climbed up to the castle and waited in a long line to buy our tickets.
This castle was quite different from Stirling Castle. It had more buildings and was quite hilly. The oldest building in the castle was St. Margaret's Chapel which was very small and could probably only seat about 10 people. This Castle is still used as a Garrison so there were building that were not available to the public
After the Castle, we went to a little tea shop and had some lunch and then searched from mom's Lilliput Lane store... no luck... it is no longer in business.
In the evening there was a university dinner at the house, so we came back early and got ready. The food was very good and I got to meet the people Uncle Andrew works with and got some good advice on the cities I will visit on my trip.

. I did get to see the crown jewels of Scotland and the Royal Palace with rooms decorated as they would have been in the 13th century. After the Castle, we went to a little tea shop and had some lunch and then searched from mom's Lilliput Lane store... no luck... it is no longer in business.
