Hello (its Sarah)
OK...as you can tell, we're having a bit of trouble keeping up with these logs at the moment. Internet is kind of scarce and expensive in Italy..so it's been a bit tough. Here's a quick run down of the past little while:
-ok, so after a day in Milan, we took the train to Parma to meet up with one of my friends from Lancaster, Jo. (she's doing her year abroad there) We stayed with Jo for 3 days..and had such a great time! It rained the ENTIRE time we were there, so apart from a few wet tours of Parma, we spent most of the time holed up in 'Hotel Jo' watching movies and tv...that might sound boring to most of you, but it was heaven for Dev and I. (and we got hooked on the show 'Nip/Tuck', do we have that in Canada?...it's GOOD)
-so, after Parma we "kidnapped" Jo and "forced" her to come to travel with us for a few days
-After the Cinque Terre, we said goodbye to Jo (booo...but hopefully we'll see you again soon!) and headed to Florence. Very nice town, the Duomo was amazing (but crowded!), we walked through the market, and we found the cheapest and best gelato place in town! mmm...Unfortunatly, it poured rain on our second day there..so after a wet attempt at sight-seeing, we came back to the hostel and watched 'Cool Runnings' - yeah! great movie!..hahaha
--From Florence we went to Siena for a day. Siena was amazing...so picturesque, and the Duomo there is unlike anything I've ever seen (it's stripped black and white)..it once again poured rain the entire time we were there..but I still loved it
-So, yesterday from Siena we came to Naples. This town is OUT OF CONTROL. It's SO busy, I've never seen traffic like this..and no one obeys any traffic signals: pedestrains, cars, motorcycles..they all just drive whenever they want. Very hectic. The pizza was apparently invented here, we had some last night and it was amazing...I'm still trying to find neopolitan ice cream, but no luck. hahaha...
ok, so there's a quick update. We'll try and be more on the ball from now on.
Hope you're all doing well.

Manarola, Italy
. (yeah...it was really tough) Our next stop was the Cinque Terre. The Cinque Terre is five tiny towns on the west coast of Italy, and you can hike from one to the next. From the moment we stepped off the train in Manarola,(the town our hostel was in) we knew this was gonna be an amazing time. It was SO beautiful there...the towns are built on the side of a cliff, there are olive and lemon groves everywhere...so amazing. We spent 2 days hiking to each of the 5 towns. The hikes usually took us way up the cliffs, so the views were spectacular. It was awesome, and tiring...some of the hikes were over 2 hrs long. Our last day there we also got in some tanning on the beach, and I went for a dip in the ocean (freezing!) It was great.-After the Cinque Terre, we said goodbye to Jo (booo...but hopefully we'll see you again soon!) and headed to Florence. On the hike...
. Very neat town, and the country side around it was beautiful..it's how I pictured Tuscany.-So, yesterday from Siena we came to Naples. This town is OUT OF CONTROL.
