Hi there, it's Devon.

Well we've gotten a bit behind in the travelogging so it's time for a quick recap.

Sarah is now back from Toronto. From what I've heard the wedding sounded like a great time.

My stint as a farmer didn't go quite as expected. It was rustic to the say the least. Who needs toilet paper and electricity, right? But it was an adventure, and by the end of the week I could add sheep heardress to my resume =)

Needless to say I was pretty excited to get to Nice and spend some quality time in the shower. I stayed with my good ol' friend Philou in residence. Anyone who has seen the cramped quarters of la Residence St. Antoine knows how generous an offer it is to give up your bed (yes that's right the poor boy slept on an air mattress)for 2 weeks. Especially a girl fresh from the farm, and smelling less than pretty. I didn't do a heck of a lot while I was there....but I enjoyed my time of relaxation. Philou and I went and stayed a couple of nights with his parents just north of Nice in St. Vallier, and when his step-dad Tony greeted us at the door with tea and crumpets, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. You kind of forget how much you miss being in a house 'til you're sitting down to a home-cooked meal, and stretching out on a couch to watch a movie afterwards.

I experienced more domestic bliss when I made a trip to Cogolin to visit my friend Julie. She took me to see a bunch of places along the Cote d'Azur, including St. Tropez, Port Grimaud, and Ste. Maxime. She also introduced me to la Tarte Tropezienne, which I can't quite put into words, but let me tell you, is delish.

I also got to see my friend Mariann who I hadn't seen since leaving residence 2 years ago. She is now studying in Cannes but made a trip up to see the old homestead....and see some familiar faces still lingering in the hall. I swear to god there are people who have been living there for over 5 years!

Nice is more or less the same as when I left it- other than the price of bus fare and baguettes which have both risen by a full 10 centimes. haha. They had a few snowfalls while I was there. It wasn't much by Canadian standards, but in Nice 10 cms means buses stop running, highways are closed, and a front page headline that reads "Disaster strikes in Nice". I love it.

Ok well I'll leave the remainder of the travel updates to Sarah. Hope you're all doing well.

Ciao!
