Bonjour (its Sarah)
ok...so, we have finally left Spain...we had a great time in Pamplona. We never quite figured out what all the parades and festivals were all about in that town, but man those people love to party!...I think we did figure out one of the reasons everyone was so hyper there though. There are more candy stores in Pamplona then anywhere else Ive ever been...every other store sells candy and everyone you see is eating it! (I happily joined in with everyone and ate candy all day...hey, I'm just trying to get the full cultural experience!)
So, we are now in Bayonne, France...we are only an hour from Pamplona but the trip here took 6hrs (I would blame this on the poor Spanish/French transport system, but that would be a lie...truthfully Dev qnd I fell asleep on the bus and missed our stop...haha oops!)
Bayonne is amazing. It's a litte town in the south-west of France...it has a beautiful river that runs through the middle of it..The town is so cute, they have a beautiful cathedral...I can't say enough about it. This afternoon we took the bus to Biarritz, which is a very posh resort town about 20 min away... it was awesome! had lunch on the beach, watched the surfers, then we walked all through town (found my dream attraction- the Chocolate Museum, but it was closed!...boo) then took a long walk along some cliffs by the water...it was great!
tomorrow, coincidently Shrove Tuesday, we head to Lourdes, where I will (nervously) attend mass with Dev in perhaps the second most catholic place on earth...should be an experience!
bye for now!
