We headed down to the Agencies and began talks with Daniel (first viewing). We explained our make or break on this deal was to take procession by Friday and while he said he wasn't sure he would fight as hard as he could to get it arranged. We were also able to get the landlord down from £1000 p.c.m to £950. Not a huge savings but we were already looking at £810 a month for the old flat above the store. We talked it over and said that we figured it was worth the extra money as it was four times as nice of a place.

We headed in and Daniel said he would contact the landlord and just make sure that everything was ok with him and to see if he could get us in by Friday then call us back. He told us to just hang out downtown for a bit and he would call us in an hour or so. So we headed down to a cafe and sat outside on a couch having coffee and enjoying the sun which we had hardly seen in our time here. After two hours we returned to the office and he was nowhere to be found. Discouraged we told the other agents to have him call us and showed that we were very angry. We then headed back to our guest house angry and disappointed as it looked to be falling threw. We decided to get the ball rolling on the flat above the store also as a backup because we just couldn't afford to risk any more delays as we needed a place by Friday. Aimee and I stayed at the guest house and Scott headed down to Premier and started the ball rolling on the other flat as well.

By 6:00pm we still hadn't heard back from Daniel and due to extreme time limits we were dealing with we were very bummed and discouraged as we had got our hopes up for the place and then been promptly crushed back down and were looking to have to settle on the flat above the store again. Very depressed we were watching TV when the phone rang. It was Daniel and we were raging and ready to tear him a new one. It was already Tuesday and we needed the place by Friday so we figured there was no hope. Scott got on the phone and we quickly learned he had a day from hell and that was why he didn't call, because we had such a good first impression of him and the fact we really wanted the place we kept our cool and explained our deal. We wanted it for £950, we wanted possession by Friday, and they had to do Scott's employment check on Wednesday as the office was closed Thur, Fri so if we were to have any hope of getting in there we had to start the paperwork immediately. He agreed to our terms but said the best he could do was Saturday possession. We agreed and said we would be down first thing Wednesday morning to start the paperwork.

It was a very emotional day of ups and downs but it finally looked like we would have a place to live. We were all very excited of the prospect of locking this place down and finally getting keys to a place to live. Just one more step and the ball would be rolling for good and it would be ours. Spirits high again we went to bed with dreams of our new place.
