I arrived in Warsaw late in the evening.  The tourist information office was closed.  No one at the train station was helpful.  Fortunately, I was able to locate the bus depot just outside the train station and managed to find the bus to take me to the old town.  Next struggle was wandering around looking for my hostel.  Eventually, I asked an officer who told me to go the Pizza Hut and turn left.  (Thank goodness for American fast food, huh?)

Warsaw was a surprising mix of modern commercialism and skyscrapers near the main train station.  But a 40 min walk later and you can be in the old town where all the streets are cobblestone and buildings look like they came out of a picture book.

But, don't be fooled, Warsaw was completely rebuilt following World War 2.  So the old town isn't so old, but, it sure does look original.

Some of the best, and most generously portioned food I had was in Warsaw, too!

I am indeed eating a lot. Good thing I'm walking all day long. I should have done this a long time ago.

No, sorry, didn't try the pizza at Pizza Hut. I did have McDonald's, though.
