. The room has a big picture window giving fabulous view of Innsbruck out to the airport and the Alps. Shelaghs not happy but managing! I’m not feeling too good so I take a power nap on awaking Shelagh says there a noise on her side of the bed and she can’t sleep. We go to reception and tell them they inform us that the hotel is full but they will send someone to investigate. The porter arrives as we get back to the room. We think that the noise is coming from the mini bar which is bolted into the desk unit. Off he goes and returns in a flash with a tool kit. He unbolts the fridge and I unplug it – success the noise has stopped. We change and head to the old town have a nice meal and return. I can’t sleep because of my cold. Shelagh can’t sleep because I’m snoring!!!
I'm not well; I’ve got a cold and a bad head. After a 7am breakfast we take the boat to Santa Lucia. I check that the trains are running on time. A regional train to Verona connects with the Bologna to Munich train. At Verona the Munich train is 20 minutes late and by the time we get to Brenner we are more than 30 minutes late but who cares the scenery is spectacular with snow above 2500m Arriving at Innsbruck I see that there is a lift from the platform to the underpass and it is working. A crowd gets in and just as the doors are shutting a man hops in behind me. He stinks of ale and he is leaning against me as I move he also moves and continues to lean against me I turn to face him as the doors open he jumps out and runs off. I realise he was trying to get into my man bag, but he only got past the first level of my multilevel security system (A clip then 2 zips) However we need to be on our guard especially in crowded areas like railway stations. The hotel is only 5 minutes away from the station. We are checked in to room 1415 that’s room 15 on the 14th floor (top floor)
