We were only in Iowa briefly. In fact, if you look at a map, we only went through the bottom, left half inch!! We got to travel a few miles of highway and refuel at a truck stop whose ladies room was closed for cleaning. Hold it? Are you kidding?! When traveling with my husband one quickly learns that pee breaks should be taken when given the opportunity. When he fills up that tank those wheels roll until it's time to refuel again. Mom would be proud, that afternoon I led an invasion into the freshly cleaned ladies room. I don't think the gentleman cleaning it fully understood the womanly need for a pit stop. There were several women who followed me into that restroom. So, having relieved, refueled and finding yet again that most truck stops don't have doggy chews, we were back on the road. Only, this time we didn't take the interstate. We ended up on Rt. 2. A cute little 2 lane that wound through some really pretty place and crossed the Missouri River just before sending us on into Nebraska. I was glad we passed the river again. When we crossed it in St. Louis, the bridge we were on blocked my camera's view. This time I got it!
