Missouri was a fun state. I got the see the arch for the first time (in person). Actually, I got to see it up-close and in person. Those of you who really know me know how nuts I can get with my camera. Well, I was trying to get the "perfect" shot of the arch and neglecting my co-piloting duties...we missed our road and ended up in downtown St. Louis. At least I got some really great pictures. Some of the buildings are amazing. It really was interesting. Oh, and I did get the "perfect" picture of the arch. We were going to try to hit Kansas City before we called it quits for the night but that just didn't happen. We ended up staying in Columbia, a town about halfway between St. Louis and Kansas City. We stopped to eat and fill up on coffee and decided it was best to go on and stop. The first motel we tried was right next to the restaurant (The Country Kitchen) where we ate. They had just changed their rules and didn't let you stay with pets any longer. We couldn't spend the night there. So, we headed across the street to the Red Roof Inn where, luckily, they allow pets. We got a room, unloaded and settled the cats in then went back for the luggage and Flash. We were all full from our recent dinner, including Flash who dined on 2 pieces of country ham, and very tired. It didn't take long for any of us to fall asleep. With Will and I in the bed and Flash...right in the middle.
