Yesterday we took a day trip to Sitges. It is our destination of choice after we check out of our current hotel, so we wanted to go down there and get the lay of the land...find a place to hang our hat when we go down there, ensure it's a place to invest some of our precious vacation time, get some seafood...etc.
So let me tell you, this place kicks some serious butt. It's s small town about 30 mins south of Barcelona situation on the coast. There's mountains around, its not un-like Santa Barbara, CA. However, there may quite possibly be more gays than Santa Barbara. Besides that, the town was absolutely beautiful.
We rode the train down from Barcelona (all organized by Steph again, crazy props to her for that) which was cool because it hugged the coast for a while.
We disembarked at a little train stop kind of place, like you see on the movies.
While we were riding, at one point, it started to sprinkle some rain on us, which was like a foreign occurance coming from the sandbox and all. We liked it. Amongst the riding we broke for tapas a few times,
When we finally weaved our way toward the beach to actually go to the beach, we decided on a stretch of sand with lots of topless people :)
After we tired of beachgoing and biking for the day, we caught the train back to Barcelona and walked the Ronda de Catalonya...which was pretty cool. Lots of shops (more upscale than Las Romblas maybe) and lots of tapa restaurants and cervecerias. We ate dinner at one and walked home.
Steph called home and I went to the roof of our hotel to observe our habitat as the sun went down...
All in all, a pretty cool day...

Barcelona Subway
Train arriving
There were a lot of tunnels so you'd be getting mesmerized by the view and then it would turn dark due to a tunnel, and then mesmerize, tunnel, mesmerize, tunnel..you get the point.
Train to Sitges
Almost There
We disembarked at a little train stop kind of place, like you see on the movies.
Arrival to Sitges
Sitges Station
We rode the bus around the entire route so we knew the town a little bit.
.
When we got off, we rented some bikes and rode around trying to book a hotel at a place to our liking.
Biking through town
Biking the b-walk
Villa
We tried this campsite that had bungalows for rent, but they were completely booked.
campground
Anyway, we found a cool little place in town...we just hope the homos weren't in the room before us.

Where we will stay
While we were riding, at one point, it started to sprinkle some rain on us, which was like a foreign occurance coming from the sandbox and all. We liked it. Amongst the riding we broke for tapas a few times,
.
stopped at a local mart and bought some tomatoes, apples and water...
Mercado
it was really easy to get sidetracked. We went to this supermercado that sold only mariscos...
Mariscos Mercado
it was amazing. When we finally weaved our way toward the beach to actually go to the beach, we decided on a stretch of sand with lots of topless people :)
!
Actually, all the beaches had lots of topless people so we really didn't have a choice. Makes the beach quite interesting actually. For these people however, it is really nothing...not a big deal. I felt like a muslim must feel going to a beach where people are actually wearing bathing suits and not abayats or burqas. After we tired of beachgoing and biking for the day, we caught the train back to Barcelona and walked the Ronda de Catalonya...which was pretty cool.
