So we were blown away so far with how cool this place is. There are endless streets of shops, tapas bars, First Tapa Stop

art studios...you name it. Las Ramblas is the main drag in the city, I suppose Barcelona's version of Champs d'Elysées. It's full of people dressed up doing different side shows...flower shops...tapas eateries...pickpockets...beautiful people...and trees. Las Ramblas

We walked all over the place. Our main goal today (after just getting off the plane) was to try and get our bearings, and figure out the lay of the land. We basically asked ourselves, what would Jason Bourne do? We now have a few listening posts set up on various strategic roofs, out street from our roof

we made a few contacts (possible assets) in various city centers The sound of flamenco amongst the town

discovered the weaknesses and bottlenecks in the city's transportation system, and brushed up on our spanish speaking skills. Old lady walking

One thing of note is that it gets dark at around 1000pm here. Which is weird. We were eating at an outdoor cafe and I looked at my watch and it was 10 past 8 and the sky looked like a typical 5pm. note the paella sign

It was a only a one hour time change from Bahrain, yet we flew 7 hours to get here. Not all of the 7 hours was going due west, there was some north involved, but 7 hours of flying must result in some kind of significant time change? In any case, this lack of time change from my position in Bahrain is what I will peg the late evenings on. We decided we like the late evening, because it gives us more time to eat tapas.

Today (it's early morning here) we plan to make a trip down to Sitges and scout out a place to live over the next half of this week after our current reservation runs out. Work on the street has it that there's beautiful beaches to be experienced!
