So we actually escaped the gravitational pull of work, school and the beautiful weather experienced lately in Bahrain in the form of sand storms. The shamal winds from Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia yield dust clouds invading the atmosphere in Bahrain which is horrendous to breath in. However, with a freshly completed assignment for my MBA, and for the first time in a long time - no ships in port for a while, we made a run for it to Catalonia...all meticulously organized by Steph...
Our trip found us taking the normal route it seems through Amsterdam...however this time, there was no time to catch the train into town.. We actually qualified to move through the "short connecting flight" queue at the passports and immigration line as we were on our way to our little 737-300 to Barcelona. We crossed paths with an american family who's dad was consistently shouting orders at his minions. The family was complete with a worn down wife, a teenage daughter resistant to everything, the younger brother who was in his own world, and a carry-on tennis racket
Here's the spanish countryside coming into view..
What took a while to register (that I was actually on vacation) is now here and not waiting up for me to realize...forces us out the door after a quick nap in our small european style hotel room to experience the seemingly beautiful city of Barcelona. Our stomachs I think are driving to a tapas bar somewhere...I think we will start in Las Romblos which is a tres minutos walk away! Stay tuned...
Oh wait...a quick view of Christopher Columbus

Sagrada Familia Video
. It was too perfect to be in a typical 80's movie about some family trip somewhere. Anyway, on the way to our gate, this picture was snapped in Schlipol airport...Here's the spanish countryside coming into view..

Nice to see pics of airplanes and the sky, hope you two are eating tapas to your body vehemently rejects the delicious appetizers. Just kidding, watch out for pick pockets, but eat to your bodies delight!! Make sure Steph eats well and see the sights. Barcelona has some old christain churches and some modern art, if you like that stuff. anyhow - be safe and smart - the three of you take care. More pics of the sights and sounds of Barcelona please.
