Lencois to Brasilia

We left Lencois early; it was to be a couple of long days driving to get to Brasilia

Lencois was a small town, but did have a few highlights, but not many

We did a major truck clean on our second day here, and that meant the whole truck emptied and cleaned and washed out, and it really needed it, I was on windows, walls and lights (and anything in general)

Everyone really got stuck in emptying it, seats, bags, everything was taken off, there was a lot of stuff found people hadn't seen for some time, it took best part of the morning and afternoon to get it all done, but it really made all the difference but I don’t think it will last long

Well, I may as well skip the 2 long days of travel as they were uneventful and just watched the country side drift by and after a while it just blended in, people read books, kindles, listened to music or just did a combination of them all

There was some 'interesting ‘meal made while we were on the road and in camp (I was with Gemma and Rob, we made chicken, rice and mixed it with cabbage, sweet corn, onions and pineapple, it really was a hit with everyone, and most had ‘seconds’ and the pots were cleaned, always a good sign of a good meal when there is nothing left)

We spent the night in a car park, as it was a bit dubious about just pulling over and camping, apart from the trucks, it was ideal really, there was security and plenty of room

I had a few problems getting my tent pegs into the asphalt, but I did in the end, worth bringing 6 inch nails as pegs, I think

It was another early start, 6 AM, I was up at 5 and waiting for the service station to open for a coffee, a young lad passed me one out of the window before they were opened properly, I was quite chuffed with that, a nice thought, so it was all packed and we set off again, we would pull over later for breakfast, most people just curled up and went back to sleep again, seemed a decent idea as the sun wasn’t up anyway

Now we slide forward a couple of hours, we are at WA-MARTS, I never knew they had any of these out here, so other people who were on the next cook group went off shopping, myself and Mario went in search of fruit, and there was a selection, and we did the usual thing, passion fruit, mangos, oranges, but best of all, they had roast chicken, it was too good to pass up, so we got half a chicken each for lunch

We had about 30 minutes drive into Brasilia and our hostel, so we got loaded back up and headed off to the hostel

(Which is quite nice, but again a dormitory, even though I don’t really like mixed ‘dorms’; these has all been clean and tidy with no bugs and have showers and proper toilets, so no really complaints)

We dropped off our bags and went for an l9ok round, (we are here for one night, a shame really, it’s the capital and I feel sure it deserves more than one night here)

We it was the TV tower first and a high view of the city, all very nice, but I have been higher, but the city does seem all high rise, I don’t know if they are homes or hotels or offices, but it took photos from all around the tower

There was also a fountain/light show going on, the fountains looked okay, not so with the light show though

It really was a case of seeing as much as we could in the time available, I never saw much, but I know others saw a lot more than I did, but still I hope you enjoy the few photos I did take,

Not sure where to next, but its more long, boring driving days, with limited or no internet access, so catch you all next time I post an entry

Hello Derrick, well we made it to Russia and are in our last hotel in Belgium, and I think it is in the same town near where we stayed last year, as a first stop. The weather has been good to us no rain, but the roads were India like at times in Russia, Latvia and Lithuania, good to see you are doing well, we can catch up upon your return and swop tales

I have missed one or two of your last entries....We are out touring around Volos and the picturesque villages of Pelion. There are certain places where I don't have internet access, I keep the entries and see them later when I come.
Keep well
