Where I stayed
The Beer of the Night:
Sunday afternoon, 3:30pm, I just finished off another Starcraft 2 mission and decided that I was done playing for the time being
Well if I was going to be heading to the cabin, I wasn't going to be doing it sober. I packed my overnight crap into my backpack, grabbed my 15 of Pilsner, and waited for Trevor to pick me up. Soon enough they arrived, and we were on our way. First stop, McDonalds on 130th ave. Mmm, Big Mac. As soon as the city was behind us, that delicious green can is planted firmly in my hand. Trevor wanted me to attempt to be subtle, so he came up with an ingenious can hiding/cooling container. There is a picture of it, go look!
Second stop, Red Deer, for dinner. We ate at Montana's it was not really exciting or particularly good in any way, with the small exception of the crayons and the paper table cloth... That shit is fun. While in Red Deer, I decided to pick up a new camera as my old one is pretty much crap
Third stop, Cabin. The sun is barely up, but we all arrived safely. Everyone gets their gear unpacked, and Jake the industrious fire maker gets a blaze going in the pit. Note to all: old, dry birch burns fast and hot. That is all. So the fire is going, the beer and wine is being consumed, and fun is being had by all.
Trevor was bound and determined to find some stars in the sky as they are usually bright and plentiful out at the cabin, but the clouds are keeping them well hidden, for a while anyhow. He does eventually find some around midnight, or at least he thought he saw some. According to Matt, they were not stars, they were the Germans, falling from the sky Red Dawn style. Ze Germans are marching. That was my favorite bit of the night.
Well thats the night, beds were hit, Z's were had by some... I slept great. There was a rhythmic sound coming from somewhere in the house that just lulled me to sleep... I think it was the furnace ;) Morning arrived, and breakfast was had...
We stopped in Red Deer again for dinner. We decided on East Side Mario's. Good choice, the food was damn good, though I hear West Side Luigi's is a better place to eat. From there it was a short drive home. Had some fun, but next time, we should leave a day earlier so we can have a full day up there. Miss going up to that cabin, we should do it more often...
