After my ordeal in Stung Treng I was ready see the country's most exciting region. This is the home to many of Cambodia's Chunchiet communities. The Jarai, Tampoun and Kreung are groups of Cambodians that have their own languages, traditions and customs. A patchwork of jungle scrub, tribal huts, waterfalls and maybe a elephant or two. I was not prepared to have everything I own coverd in red dust. Nickenamed 'dey krahorm' (red earth) because everything is forever cloaked in a blanket of red dust. There is not much to do in town. A short ride of about 3 miles in red dust is this most beautiful tropical Volcanic lake. Through the clearing of a dark green forest sits this completly round bright blue lake. It's hard to believe being coverd in red dust that this beautiful lake is there. I could not wait to take a few dives into the fresh cold water. Tomorrow we will see 3 waterfalls that are nearby.
