Well my f*cking flight was delayed by 2 hours so when we landed in Surat Thani the fast boat to Ko Phanang had already left. The touts were trying to round up tourists to go to Ko Samui and Ko Phanang via an 8hr night boat. I was going to try get a taxi to the port were the fast boat leaves from cause I thought maybe I might be able to find someone heading over anyway. The slow/night boats and the fast boats leave from different ports. The taxi fair to the fast boat port was very dear, so got talking to 3 really sound (if not slightly mad) English girls, Cira, Claire and Angela that were looking a bit confused by it all. We all just wanted to get to Ko Phangan but all the touts were going on about was Ko Samui. Between us we reckoned we missed the last fast boat, so we decided just get a pickup to the night boat port and see if we could sort out our own transport to Ko Phangan. After half an hour of flying down the road in the back of the pickup we arrived at the port a little windswept, the girls were sporting a lot of big hair! Anyway we checked out the boats and found the night boat to Ko Phangan and got our tickets. The boat leaves at 11pm and since it was only about 8pm we had a bit of time to kill. We got a table by some food stalls and started to sample a little of the local cuisine. It wasn't long before we realised it was going to be a long night so I suggested we get a little Thai whiskey in to try and take our minds off it. The lads at the food stalls were cool about us hitting the 7 eleven across the street for our supply and using their facilities. They even joined us later for a few! Anyway the girls introduced me to a game they named circle of death but I think its called ring of fire. The cards are all put in a circle and each person has to pick a card and do whatever that card means. Mainly drink a lot with the odd truth or dare thrown in for good measure! Either way it was good craic but I seemed to be getting a hit hard with some of the worst forfeit cards. Although Claire had to show her nipple to the food stall guy (which he thoroughly enjoyed, and ok... so did I!)... so it could have been worse! So 54 cards later (those fu*kin jokers!) we found ourselves a nice little spot on the boat and set sail. At this stage we were all in great form, and really looking forward to hitting the full moon party. After a little music and enjoying ourselves it wasn't long before we pissed a local off and he moved downstairs. Most people on the boat just wanted to sleep but the way we figured it they were all heading to party anyway so we didn't really care. We had a great time on the night boat and I'm so glad I met the girls otherwise it might have been a really long night!
