The medicine worked for Elaine, she slept well. As indeed we all did, after a super evening of Rosemary's cooking and of course, oodles of laughter and chat. The noise level was about to go down, however, as Derek and the Brains took their departure after a 'fried everything' breakfast. They are great company, it was a cracking weekend.
Once they'd gone, it was time to take Elaine to A&E in Basildon. It didn't take too long, a couple of hours, and our potted diagnosis was confirmed, deep tissue damage but no fracture, so the plan was still a 'go'. We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening just relaxing and reading the papers etc, basically enjoying the comparative peace that comes when old friends, comfortable with each other, spend time together.
