It rained hard during the night but by the morning, the rain had passed and it looked like being a pleasant day. It certainly started off well with a 'fried everything' breakfast which set the boys up for a day's serious crabbing. We then left them to it and went for a stroll across the meadows into Southwold, where we did a bit of shopping, bought a small painting depicting beach huts and consumed large ice creams. Our return journey took in the beach and its beach huts and got us back to the boat in time for lunch. One slight surprise that we had was that we were now being rafted against by another boat - this time a Dutch one. I explained that our plan was to leave at 07:00 the following morning and they assured me that they didn't mind and would be up in time. If only I'd had the prescience to insist that they moved there and then....
Later on that day, we were joined on board for drinks by Ian and Julie and Callum Dalgleish and of course, Marley, for drinks. It transpires that they actually live in Tollesbury and keep their boat there and have done so for 18 years. They are very satisfied with the service the yard provides so it was nice to have some confirmation that the decision I made way back last winter, to leave CW in Tollesbury for the coming winter, seems to have been a good one.
For a change, we ate out. We went to the local pub and had fish & chips all round, with red wine for Julie & Rosemary and Adnams bitter for me - an excellent pint.Thank you Rosemary!
