Today was to be a day to relax and gird our loins for the next stage of the journey south - that and get Julie's stitches out and do the laundry. Which is what we did, with little to report other than the nurse was pleased with Julie's healed upper lip and Julie was even more pleased, having the irritation of the stitches catching, was now a thing of the past. We also put 50 litres of diesel in the tank, thereby filing it up, pretty much.

We had entertained a notion of having a walk around the cliffs of Whitby but by the time Julie had had her shopping fix, the weather, which had started off sunny but breezy, closed in and rain threatened, so we stayed on board. It probably sounds boring to most people, but I have to say that we both just enjoy being on the boat, to paraphrase Ratty ' being, just being on a boat is simply the best', so we were quite content. I cooked a Thai green curry (chicken) and we went to bed early, as tomorrow the alarm was set for 04:45 to give us time to make the 05:30 swing bridge opening, next stop Spurn Head, 72 miles away.
