Sadly, it looks like the last 36 hours or so had been the 'blip' in the weather, in that it now reverted to the familiar pattern of F5-7, occasionally 8, winds, this time from the North East. In other words, it was a day for pottering about the boat, reading, knitting and getting frustrated with various mind puzzles. I spent some time in the forepeak, wiping down the unlined locker surfaces to reduce the mold population that has been flourishing there. I assume that when we get warmer weather or move the boat to warmer climes, this problem will reduce. Either that or I'll have to spend some time this winter lining the lockers. Right now, being in warmer conditions is the favoured alternative!
As I am restricted to 5 photos per day by the blog site, I decided to break with tradition and add a couple of extra photos from yesterday, in today's blog.
That evening, we'd been invited to dine on board Aphrodite and in view of the weather and the worsening forecast, it was decided that it would be better if we started on the early side. Consequently, at 17:45 we set off. Picture one dinghy with two foolhardy souls, battling against strong winds and sharp, very wet waves, to get to Aphrodite, some 400 yards up-weather away. The draw of Fran's cooking kept us battling on and we arrived safely - wet, bedraggled and with a dinghy half full of water, but safely. It was worth it.
