We got the car two days ago. We were picked up at the Gothenburg train station by a chaffeur and driven to Ronnuum Manor outside of Trollhatten. It was a very long ride but Pat chated the driver up. John said he thought delightful conversations like Pat's really helped make the time fly for someone who drives all day. I thought it was alot like the scene in the movie Airplane where the guy kept talking and his seatmates kept committing suicide! The woman's anwers were absolutly monosylabbic. It was hilarious, Pat was like the Energizer Bunny. God love her.
Anyhow, we had an incredible meal at the restaurant. Lauren Bacall and Niccole Kidman have stayed at this old hunting lodge so it was very classy. We got a first course that was a small cup of peå soup with a cracker thing and some salmon stuff. We had no idea how to eat it. While we were trying to figure it out we heard laughing and this Danish couple on vacation was laughing at us and motioning for us to just pick it up and drink it. Cup, handle, not a new concept. DUH! I was pretty disavowed of my image of myself as a cosmoplitian world traveller with savoir faire at that moment! Next day this gorgeous Viking of a woman introduce Pat to the new love of her life. It is a stunning car. Wait until you all see it. John took lots of pictures. I didn't.
The un-highlight of the trip was me losing my brand new camera. I had just finished stuffing Lynn into the wall of a church and I sat down to contemplate man's existence. Must have sat the damn thing down. You'd think people who visit a church would be more honest and turn it in but nooooo. So I have nary a photo to share. No more being tied down to the tyranny of the photo op for me. I'm free to just enjoy the trip.
Anyhow, we made it to our lovely B&B on the outskirts of Købemhæven. I'm probably not spellign it write but I løve all øf these new letters and symbøls.
My facial paralysis is better. I don't look like a Bassett Hound anymore. Still having trouble with saying some letters. Can't wait to start the new year teaching ED kids with slurred speech, a half paralyzed face while drooling. Lips are really important for keeping food and saliva in your mouth. Maybe I'll loose some weight. Just call me Pollyanna. My mother was right about making faces. Wish I'd have listened.
On to a castle tomorrow. It's dusk out, 10:30 pm so øff to beddy bye.
Miss You all,
