April 5
We just arrived in our hotel in Clearfieldd Pensilvania. After hours of driving through small towns and nothingness, well, we haven't gotten through that yet. We went to this fast food steak house (something I never thought I'd experience) called Ponderosa and although the steak wasn't the best, it came with a buffet and pandit was a pretty good deal. Gonna wake up early for another day of driving. Yay. Oh well. Can't wait for Washington!

April 6
We are currently checking into our hotel in Washington DC. It's called 'The George.' it's pretty nice and there's cool chairs in the lobby.

We went to the spy museum today. We went on this 'Operation Spy' thing at the museum and we got to skip a humungous line. We got fake identities and I was Jane Meyer. I was 13, born in Sweetwater Tennessee going to Dublin Ireland for a 7 day vacation. The museum was pretty good but there was no photography allowed. My mum's aunt is arriving soon and and my parents want to go to a wine tasting downstairs.

For dinner, we go to Johnny's Half Shell. It is a sea food restaurant just around the corner from our hotel. There was no drink menu but the food was good and the seats were soft and the bread was really good.

April 7
We are at the Capital for a tour. The tour starts in 15 mins. Mum finally got to see a Cherry blossom so that's good.

Our tour guide for the Capital tour was kind of mean. He yelled if you didn't have your headphones on and he yelled if you didn't stay with the group and he yelled if you touch the statues and he yelled at basically any given opportunity. Whatever. You're bound to run into a yeller sometimes.

We're the at the National Air and Space Museum. There's lots of stuff about gravity and space and rocket-ships. The stupid Internet won't work!!!

For dinner we went to an Italian restaurant called Filomena's. There were really big portions and the pasta was really good.

April 8
We're at the Spy Museum again, this time for breakfast. We couldn't find anywhere else to eat so we just stopped at the Spy City Cafe.

At the white-house visitor center, there are pictures and paintings and videos on the whitehouse past and present. We couldn't get very close to the real thing so this is as good as we're gonna get.

At the Museum of American History, there are simulation rides (not 100% sure why). Justin and I went on one called Cosmic Race. The motion simulation was great but the 3-D glasses were the most horrible in the universe.

We are done with the Museum of American History and are about to enter the Museum of Natural History next door. I swear, there must be a million museums in DC.

My feet are dying. Since we arrived, we walked through 4 museums and probably km's on the street. I never realized how good sitting on a stiff wooden bench could feel. In the museum store, there were tons of stuffed animals in pretty much every size (Ashleigh!!) and I saw a panda bear I secretly made mine. (See picture) I named him 'Panda'. Yeah. I know. So original. In the insect exhibit, I got so grossed out by some of the bugs I literally fled the room. We saw the Hope Diamond and it was pretty big. It wasn't the biggest diamond I've ever seen but it was a really deep blue. There were so many priceless gems in the gem exhibit I almost wanted to cry. Why can't I have pretty gems??? Well I did get a necklace with a 2cm purple gem (that I can't remember the name of). A new life goal of mine is to become rich (already a life goal) and buy at least one huge gem (maybe on a necklace) like a diamond or ruby or emerald or sapphire or... Yeah that's pretty much all I know.

For dinner we went to an Irish pub called Dubliner. At 8 o'clock, one of the staff dimmed the lights and although it was a bit darker, it was still brighter than Filomena's, where people could hardly even read their menu's.

April 9
We checked out of the Hotel George and are getting ready to drive to Baltimore. With two quick stops at a souvenir shop and Starbucks, we're on our way. Farewell Washington.
