On Wednesday, we woke up and it was yet another beautiful day! Last week, the weather wasn't the best. It was really overcast every single day. However, the past 3 days have been nothing but blue skies and sunshine. We woke up and I really didn't want to eat breakfast at the hotel again. I am so sick of eggs, toast and pineapple juice. But we did have a pleasant surprise: bacon & hash browns. I decided to forgo McDonalds and eat yet again at the hotel.
After breakfast, we headed to the beach, surprise surprise. I know a lot of you are probably thinking "poor Denise, stuck in Thailand and is forced to go to the beach and pool everyday." I know we are not getting much sympathy back home, but trust me, it feels like Ground Hog Day and it gets rather monotonous. Today, I really wanted to kill time at the beach, so Nathan and I rode jet skis!! It was awesome. I was not a fan of the salt water splashing in my face therefore impairing my vision, but it was still awesome. We signed some waiver form that said we basically had to buy a jet ski if we screwed up. He did say they have no insurance so don't wreck. It was very reassuring. Nathan and I played around in the bay. Although, I was gunning mine full throttle and I was not going nearly as fast as Nathan. I was jealous he got the faster one. When we got back to the beach, he said he wasn't even going max speed. I was jealous.
After the beach, we headed to a Mexican restaurant because we were craving chips and guac. It was quite possibly the worst guac in the world. We sent it back. We had a few beers and margaritas and came back for a cat nap. We got ready and headed out to the bars. There is this one gay bar that I love. They have shows every night at 11:30PM and 1AM with lady boys dressed at Britney, Christina, Madonna..all the queens you can imagine! the sing show tunes which makes Frank happy. We are starting to know the people who work there...never a good sign. Chai, who is the cutest little Thai boy, brings us drinks and talks to us about our trip. We stayed for both shows and then got some McDonalds. I don't think I am going to eat McDonalds for A LONG time when I go back. I never eat the stuff at home, but I eat it all the time here.
Today, we are doing the same thing: pool & beach. Although, I think I might parasail today. Something to break up the monotony. Also, I want to wish Julie a very happy birthday! I can't wait to see you in a few weeks for the wedding...if I make it back :)
