I've written elsewhere about the new promenade at Corinth, with it's cafe bars, apartment blocks and sculptures.  Crowded no doubt in summer, and even on a winter Sunday afternoon, it is a hopeful sign in Greece, reminding me that this city, which I see has reinvented itself numerous times over the centuries, is still being updated and developed.

On the other side of the port, where the small harbour lies, and not far from the old railway route, I found a another development had taken place, designed for cyclists, walkers, skateboarders maybe, and defintiely for children.

I had walked a little way along towards the Corinth canal some time ago, and remember it being quite ordinary.  Now, using little more than paint and concrete it seems, a lively route to a new playground has been established and seems to be much enjoyed by local families.  The way is lit by solar powered street lights, a neat idea which is catching on worldwide now I think.  The stiking yellow pathway, painted on the ground, adds couliur and interest and is punctuated by motifs for children to enjoy.

The area close to the harbour has been renovated a bit too, with outside tables and chairs enabling visitors to enjoy drinks by the sea, at a price of course!
