crossing borders...always a treat. And when crossing borders it is always relevent to know what the country you are arriving from produces and what the country you are entering doesn't want to admit into its borders.
In this case, crossing into Chile is practice in disassembling an entire truck...Chile means business and they do not want their neighbor's major export to be an easy import through their borders. Consider our required total dismantling of the truck while we run each and every removable piece through their radar as proof of that. Chile tries very hard to demonstrate that they have an organization that competes with any in the world. They might be right...
Without knowing how the rest of their borders operate...it is an easy judgement to make to suppose that Chile has a level of government control unlike any country we have encountered to this point.
