On our way to Jo'burg, we worked in an 18 hour layover in Paris, consisting of several naps, a significant amount of good food, and a little bit of sightseeing. We arrived early in the morning and made our way to Pierre Hermé for delicious almond croissants. Fleeing the pigeons in St. Sulpice, we headed to the Louvre to store our luggage. After brunch Mariage Freres (we weren't joking about all of the food), we sat down at the Stravinsky Fountain for an hour-long nap in the sun. Feeling groggy, we headed back to the Louvre, where we dozed off in a few galleries and napped by the I.M. Pei pyramids. After an early dinner at Ladurée, we headed back to the airport for a late night departure. We awoke to daybreak above Africa.
