So, I finally go tout of the city and did the Penguin Parade day tour (with Go West).

It was so cool! We made a few stops along the way, for a wine tasting (they were all pretty awful i have to admit, but hey, free is free right?) to check out a surf beach where a competition was actually going on, and to a nature park! I thought it was really cool since i hvaen;t had a chance yet to see any of the "aussie" animals. We got to pet a wombat, feed/pet kangaroos (too cool!) and feed emus (I chose to not directly from my hand- they looked intimidating!).

Finally the main event- the penguin parade. That is seriously what it is. In the evening, when it gets dark, the penguins all come in to return to their burrows, in big groups. They have these grandstands set up, and the penguins just march right on past. There were so many! I "upgraded" to the "penguins plus" grandstand, since more go by it. they are the cutest things! And they "argue" with neighbours and you can hear them sqwaking at each other.

During the day Friday, I went to the library to check out an exhibition they have there- The Medieval Imagination or something... its a bunch of 'illuminated manuscripts' from the 8th-16th centuries. It was actually pretty cool, the colour and detail, considering hwo old it is! I also went to my second live AFL game Friday- this time I took advice my my friend on which team to go for, and they won! It was a really good game. Surprisingly simple to catch on to. Highly recommended!

my mobile also survived a trip in the washing machine... i was able to rescue it in time, dry it out, and save myself from another mobile mishap, from which i have been plagued.

Now I'm off to try and do something else "exciting".. perhaps an art gallery. But coffee first!!
