So, after 8 months of debating with myself (and I'm not exaggerating here) I decided I better do it while in New Zealand... BUNGY!!
I decided on the Kawarau Bridge jump... Home of the World's First Bungy Site. 43 metres (134 feet) high!!
Wow. Seriously, what a hard thing to describe! The site itself is like 1/2 hour from the town centre so a group of us boarded a bus to ride out there. It ws actualyl a pretty cool group of people.. definitely made it easier! Go figure I was the last one to jump though, when all I wanted to do was get it over with... after watching so many people go, I just had to turn around and sit down and stop watching haha.
Anyways, eventually it was my time to get all strapped up... after repeatedly refusing their offers of a water touch, it was my turn to shuffle to the edge... 1...2...3... GO!
So all my plans of doing a nice looking jump, perhaps a swan dive, totally failed... i just jumped off feet-first like you would into a pool... photos turned out interesting thats for sure! The free fall is about 4 seconds... couldn't even scream then if I had wanted to! It was so crazy though, and then you bounce up and fall some more... eventually a raft come and you grab a pole and pull yourself into it, then you have to walk up from the river! Luckily one of the guys from the bus was there to give me a hug!
Anyways, still on an adrenaline high, afterwards I decided to take the gondola up to watch a fellow bridge jumper jump AGAIN (the ledge bungy this time) before we did the luge... no surprises, on my first run I crashed into the wall and scraped up my arm. So typically me!! But it was really fun, and I think I have officially completed my New Zealand checklist.
Bring on Australia!

(the photos I bought will be online in about a week... so check back then!)
