Wellington has been a busy place these past few weeks!
Last weekend was the Rugby 7s. It's a HUGE party, basically. Everyone uses it as an excuse to get all done up in fancy dress and get drunk all day... I didn't go though, tickets were WAY to expensive, not to mention next to impossible to get, and I worked on the Friday anyhow. I did head out on the Saturday night, since Courtenay Place was shit down for a street party. It was OK, but I think everyone was already all partied out from the night before!

Yesterday was Waitangi Day, which is basically the NZ equivalent of Canada Day, being the national holiday. I was lucky enough to have the day off (I've really lucked out in every way with my 2 on/2 off roster!). The group of us left around 11am to head to the nearby Waitangi Park to watch some entertainment and have a few beers Jazz hands!
Jazz hands!
. Then it was back to the hostel to eat lunch before making the uphill trek to Hataiti, where a Bob Marley "One Love" tribute festival was taking place, since his birthday coincides with the "birth of a nation". (No, I did not make that one up myself!) Most of us didn't stay too long, since I think you had to be high to fully appreciate it.

Today I did some shopping... got some good bargains! Planning ahead for sending stuff home with mom & dad (only one week till they arrive now! Although they leave in 6 days.) Anyways, I figure if I'm getting rid of some stuff it means room for new! I've been loving it here at the hostel, it's a great group of people, especially all the girls in my room. Only 10 days left in Welly...! I work Friday and Saturday and that is IT! (P.S. still waiting on actually RECEIVING the back pay... payroll has to "test" out the new rate of pay before it goes into effect... typical!).

I've also booked a portion of my flights for the summer... I figured out it's actually cheaper to book the ticket as two separate one-ways. So I have San Fran back to Aussie for July 14- a few days longer than I was intending to stay, but it saved me like $100USD. Besides, I figure San Fran is going to be awesome to explore, so it'll be all good to go. Now I'm working on the flight TO the US, and then of course the return flight to Mexico! It's going to be great.
