wow, so lots to update in such a short time!!

the new jobs is going well. It is fairly easy, basically I walk (and walk... and walk...) in circles all day. The job involves six coffee/tea rounds, 3 meals, and then collecting the dishes from each of those rounds. And also going down the the kitchen a few times, which is basically as far away as it could possibly be while remaining in the same building. the hospital is HUGE! (I guess any hospital compared to Milton is though!) I think it has 10 buildings, and a new one under contruction. The people are mostly pretty cool though, and I think the patients probably like seeing a new face which has no interest in poking and prodding them.

the flat... the flat is pretty cool! The other roomie is slightly messy (ok, I will give him the fact that he is a 19 year old student) but it is SO nice to have my own soace, especially when I have to get up at 6am for work. And a double bed! Its pure heaven. I'm loving it.

My birthday turned out pretty well. It was a slow start to the day. I went shopping for a new outfit, and treated myself to a pedi. (definitely not as good as Apryl's!). Rieke took me out for coffee, then Darilynn took me out for a smoothie (later on lol!). I headed over to the hostel, after successfully finding Canadian beer! it was 5 months expired but... minor details. It was good for a taste of home!!! Debs treated me to my pizza dinner, then we went out. It was also katie's last night so we had a pretty big group of people out. I had a lot of fun, as much as you can when you are basically at the furthest point from all your family and friends (which I was missing a lot!!).

Things will probably be pretty basic now... work and flat. A lot of people are leaving about now, but that means less money spent on going out. Hopefully a smooth sailing few months ahead! I'm looking forward to some Root Beer... Darilynn's family is coming for a visit from Canada, and she is going to try and get her mom to smuggle some in!

Moosehead Beer, and Root beer from Canadiana.
I'm seeing a theme here!

I just about fainted with happiness the other day when I discovered Reeses Peanut Butter cups.... I made Colin buy them for my Christmas box!!!

It sounds like you're having a blast - and making a bit of money to boot! That should set you up nicely for the next year and the rest of your trip.

Sigh... Isn't it odd/great to have it be so warm this time of year?
