Tonight I went with Darilynn, a fellow Canadian Wellywood-er, to drop some stuff off at her new flat. Turns out there was still one room available, so easy as that, I'm moving in Wednesday!! Downside being I have to hit up Sally Ann to buy my own bed, but the room is massive, and all my own! Rent is only $100 per week, and about $45 per month in expenses (electricity and landline- so mom & dad, and anyone else who wants, you can call me on the cheap!) I'm so excited and happy!
Anyways, details on the weekend! Shane, another long-termer, departed from good old Welly this weekend, destination: Taupo. (en route to Auckland to fly home for good). Anyways, 6 of us rented a van and did a little road trip.We just had a chilled weekend. We camped out on Friday night, and I think it was literally the first time I have ever properly camped out in my life. Proper meaning tent in the middle of nowhere! So proud of myself! We did a 2 hour round-trip walk on Saturday, to and from Huka Falls with a stop at some natural thermal pools. Other than that, we really didn't do too much other than just spend time together for one last time as the whole group. Sad!
I'm really ecstatic right now. From originally only planning on 5 days in Welly on my way down south, I have done a total turnaround, getting a great job and a sweet flat within a matter of a week! Sweet as!!
