So, I luckily timed things well so that my final two days in Auckland (hopefully for good!) were interesting, anyways!

I took the Magic bus (another travelers network) back from Paihia to Auckland, mainly due to the fact that it would allow me to leave on Saturday rather than Friday, and also the bonus that it takes you right to your hostel, rather than 15 minutes walk away. (I was especially glad of this fact when I got there and realized my hostel is on top of a short, yet extremely steep hill!). SO I got to do some touristy type things on the way including seeing another Kauri forest, and a video about Opo the gay dolphin. (It was the 50's, ok? Really funny, made the town of Opononi famous!)

Upon arrival, the website I had booked through had screwed up, and I had a temporary moment of panic wondering where I was going to sleep. Luckily, they had ONE bed left, and I was upgraded to my very own double room for the night! (Unluckily, I had to get up early to check out, and check back in later).

Anyways, after getting ready, I set off on a half hour walk through town... desination: Vector Arena. Purpose: Justin Timberlake! I had a general admission floor ticket (which I paid a small fortune for), but got in fairly early and scored a sweet spot, stage left! I managed to get a little bit closer during the show, but I was glad that for the most part it was a tame crowd without TOO much jostling and pushing. Paris Wells opened, I have no clue who she is but she was actually quite decent. Justin himself played two sets, which lasted about 2 hours, definitely sweet! It was a great show, I had a good time. It felt weird that he kept saying "Auckland" and "New Zealand", I felt like a poser! Oh well. It was a good night out.

Today happened to be the Auckland Santa Parade (Thats right, no Claus in the name!). Even though its definitely not as exciting when you're a kid, I stuck out the entire thing and was finally rewarded with the man in red. Not only is it strange having Christmas in summer, but it felt even weirder to be HOT and need sunscreen during the parade! No baton twirlers either, just lots if cheerleaders!

Anyways, I am off to my home away from home, Wellington, tomorrow. I'm just trying to figure out where to stay now, oops. Wish me luck!
