So, back in Auckland! But first I'll finish up how I spent my past week (in luxury, I might add, MUCH thanks to Melissa and Colin for everything!!).

From Rotorua we made the short drive (being about an hour) to Taupo. Our first discovery in this city was that we had a BBQ at the apartment! Sweet as. So we walked into town, had a lakeside stroll, and checked out the cool shops and cafes that Taupo has to offer. I gave Melissa and Colin the grand tour including where I bought my second mobile phone, and the internet cafe where I booked my JT ticket. (Only 10 days away now!) Very exciting stuff I tell you. Then, it was off to the supermarket to purchase some BBQ supplies! Melissa cooked us a FANTASTIC dinner. All I can say is: vegetables! Then Melissa and Colin got the honour of watching my skydive video (again and again, at their request!) It was fun reliving the moment.

I got up early to take advantage of the cheap laundry, since I was in desperate need after Fiji. After another awesome brekkie, we started our long journey to Waitomo. This was some slightly poor planning on my behalf since there is not really a direct route from Taupo to Waitomo. Anyways, we got in at a decent enough hour to be able to get out and see the Glow worm caves. This was the "granny tour" compared to my last Waitomo cave adventure, but it was a welcome relief! Mainly staying dry! This tour included walking around the main caverns, then boarding a boat for a leisurely boat ride through pitch-black caves which provided an awesome view of the "night sky"- aka the loads of hungry glowworms on the cave ceiling. Afterwards, we found an amazing restaurant (Melissa and Colin seem to have a good nose for them!) where I got my first Tapas experience and we ordered way too much food, on top of getting a free experimental (yet delicious!) plate for free.

It was up early (not by choice) in order to get the brekkie included with our accomodation. This allowed us to be early starters on a Bushwalk nearby. I was having some deja-vu, but something wasn't quite right. I eventually figured I had done the same walk but from the other direction with the Kiwi bus! It was good the second time around too though! We didn't do too much in Hamilton, except I was excited to see a Warehouse EXTRA (thats right!) across the street from the hotel. And now that it is finally complete I will divulge the hair "experiment" I have been working on, which took three bleachings, a failed red attempt, and finally discovering some proper coloured hair dye. Pink tips! Just because I can! Looks sweet and I'll try to get a photo up soon. We went out for a good dinner with bad service, the last supper! Hamilton wasn't too exciting aside from that, aside from this massive, massive rainbow, and the fact that I had a king size bed TO MYSELF! The things that excite a traveler. I also got the last bit of my Christmas shopping done, and packed it all up (along with some extra crap I don't really need) and sent it all home for a whopping $63.

In the morning we had a quick bite before taking a riverside stroll, then headed in to Auckland. After checking in, we had some Wendy's for lunch- a treat for Melissa and Colin! Then.. that was it. The week was over, we said our goodbyes and parted ways. (I feel like I should be saying, "The End!"
