After Rolling up the tent, stuffing everything back in our packs, having our free coffee and using our 1 hour free Internet we were ready to hit the road again.
We sorted our travel so we could have 3 hours in Pisa to visit the leaning tower etc. It was expected, on a bit of a lean and thousands of tourists... amazing for it being a Sunday. Next to Chiavari. Wow, we hit the Mediterranian, FANTASTIC. Dad, you would be so jealous, fantastic fishing, beautiful seas and lots of lovely boats. We camped at 'Camping al mare' about 1/2 and hour from the far end of Cinque Terre. The campsite was packed, luckily we had rung up and reserved a spot otherwise... who knows, sleep on the beach. We were literally 10 m from the water. It was so blue and quite warm. Unfortunately the beach was rocky though, and not smooth rocks..... ouch. We didn't care, it was the beach on the Mediterranian. We did the famous, must do walk. The five villages of Cinque Terre, starting at Riomaggiore, ending at Monterosso. It took us 4.5 hours. It was quite hard work because it was really hot, but also big hills, up and down, up and down.... aaaahhh. SO worth it and we really did deserve our swim at the end. But the best areas were unfortunately private beaches, told to pay 19 Euro we nearly fainted and took off. Why would you pay to lie on a rocky beach when we can go to the best beaches in the world free!!!! Needless to say we slept very well that night. Up very early the next morning 5.30 to catch our 7.30 train to Nice. Ciao Deb and Stew
