We stayed in the old part of town in Tallinn in a very dodgy hostel, shower didn't work, people spoke very little English and weren't very friendly. The attraction of Als Express (the hostels name)is it is right in the middle of where all the tourism of Tallinn is. We did our usual wander around town and had a quiet beer. Later we had a lovely meal at a place called Peppersack, a medieval style pie.

Tallinn is traditionally known as the place were blokes go for their stag night, this tradition is still going strong. All around town were groups of loud, drunk and obnoxious British, Irish and others enjoying the usual jokes at the bridegrooms expense, quite funny really. There were also a few hens groups. We soon got sick of this and went to the most expensive movie theatre in Europe, as boasted by the ticket lady and saw Hitchikers guide to the Galaxy.

Next day was full of sight seeing, we did an audio tour seeing all the major sights, very interesting and a good way to do a tour at your own pace. I loved going up into the old towers and on the old city wall imagining what it must have been like in the old days when it was used.

We also took a trip to the 'Outdoor museum'. Here there are a whole lot of old houses, restored and moved there to show us how people lived in early years in Tallinn. This was quite cool, the best thing though was that it was a beautiful sunny day, lots of music and activities and we got a ride on a horse and cart for FREE!

After 48 days our trip overland was finally broken with a flight to Zurich, Switzerland. Our next overland mission is about to begin.

Till next time.
