Our exiting Australia would be one of our most dramatic yet!! Xmas eve Sam went to Rocco's for family dinner after we had presents with Kate. Kate and I then enjoyed a most wonderful evening together, we drank MOET and cooked soft shell crab, one of our favourites. While I really missed not being with Sam's family I truly loved and appreciated the evening I had with Katie.

Sam was back home around 11pm and I remember waking up to hear him vomit and have gastro. During the night he fainted and hit his head on the bathroom floor and knocked himself out. He woke me at 6am falling onto the bed with a bleeding wound to his forehead! Quite a scary start to xmas day! I was hoping to avoid hospital but it was not possible and as his violent vomiting continued I had no option than to call an ambulance.

These ambos were a story in  themselves! Jaded cynical older male paramedic and fresh-faced young female ambulance officer- the dynamics were fascinating if I could have focused on them, but my attention was to poor Sam, the 2nd time in a month I have used the ambulance to get him to hospital, the previous ride being for his back spasm!!

Long story, short - he is observed and checked out for several hours and he is allowed to leave for Bali. I call Kate to help me do everything I need to do in 20 mins so I can get to the hospital, then the international airport before the flight closes. We make it with 5 mins to spare and this was with me parking in the short term area so we can check in and then after I knew we were secure, I moved our car to the long term parking.
