We then drove to Rainbow Falls which is 27m high waterfall surrounded by forest
We then took a car ferry across to Russell to visit the Museum, which has a 1:5 scale model of Captain Cook's Endeavour and information about when he visited the Bay of Islands but it was shut! Everthing closes here at 5.00pm and as we were having so much fun and it was still hot and light we didn't realise the time. It seems that nothing is open in NZ after 5.00pm but I guess with a population of only 4 million people, 1 million of whom live in Auckland, there isn't anybody to stay open for. So we took a stroll around and then headed home to Mary's for dinner.
It was such a luxury to stay with Josie's family as it was wonderful to stay in a home again rather than a 8 bed dorm! Mary and Peter are both Christians too and so we took time to pray together and talk about Churches I could visit while I am here. They were both a real encouragement to me and it was so nice to spend time with them.
