We had a really good visit this year
. The students were exceptional. They were so positive, flexible, accommodating, helpful, and appreciative. Everyone always had a smile on their face and I never heard anyone complain. The weather was consistently blue skies, warm and sunny. No bug problems, humidity or rain. Except for the one student who got a bad upper respiratory infection, everyone was healthy. No diarrhea this year. New relationships were built and old relationships were deepened. I truly believe that everyone who participated in this year's program is leaving a changed person.
I remain in awe when I think about the opportunities the Lord has provided for me through this program. There have been many times that I had to do a reality check because at times it feels like a dream. My desire has always been to be a testimony for the Lord and each year we begin to plant our seeds a little deeper into the soil of Thailand and it’s people. In return, I have learned so much from my Thai friends. The Thai people have learned to be content no matter their circumstance. They remain positive and live for the happiness of others. They are so self-sacrificing, resourceful and giving. They are always praising others and I stand in their presence so undeserving of their praises.
I want to thank Pi Jip, Nong Maew and all of the BCNC & BCNU staff and faculty that have made this year a success. Our lives have been changed for the good. We look forward to a growing relationship with each of you. You will always have a friend in Pennsylvania, USA. God bless.
Today we leave for home so this will be my last blog before we get home. Everyone slept in this morning. The goal for today is to pack and to keep everything under 50 lbs. per luggage. This will be a challenge for some. The students want to visit the local supermarket, Rimping, to buy some last minute Thai items (snacks and things they can not get in USA). We also need to set up an ATM account for Tantawan so she has access to money during the next several months. We are also going to meet for class today and finish up some of our class work. We will leave for the airport around 8 pm. Although Chiang Mai airport is not big we have to arrive 3 hours before our flight and we need to get our money converted back to the dollar. Our flight is scheduled to go out at 11:20 pm. The faculty, staff and buddies will see us off and like always, there will be tears shed.
