The second temple we visited was named after the seven peaks that were built on top of the temple. Once again the temple was very old. Students purchased souvenirs based on the year they were born. Some of them also participated in releasing small birds for good luck.
After lunch we went to the C Market where we got lunch
At 3 pm we went to the local hot spring. I spent the hour or so at the mineral bath area. I soaked my worn out feet in water that was around 103 degrees F. It felt very relaxing.
After the hot springs we dropped the students off at the Walking Street. This will be the last big (and cheap) shopping spree the students will have so they were eager to finish their shopping. Greg, Maew and I went to Fys Bakery to buy a birthday cake for Jeremy's BCNU buddy. Today is his 20th birthday and the students wanted to celebrate with a cake. On the way back to BCNC we stopped at a restaurant that is known for their Northern Thai style (Lanna) food. Everything was good except for one dish. Both Bri and I tasted the dish but we could not finish off our sample of food. We also ate frog unbeknownst to us. It was not bad but I am glad that Maew did not tell us what it was until after I ate it. After dinner we returned back to the college.
It was not long before the students returned home. We all sang, "Happy Birthday" and enjoyed very small pieces of birthday cake. After the party all of the BCNC, BCNU and MC buddies gathered outside to send up group lanterns. The students really enjoyed this event. This is unique to Thailand.
