I have one student who is getting a cold and does not feel well today. So she was advised to stay behind in the afternoon and if she feels better in the evening, she can join the group at the Night Safari. The students went to a noodle shop for lunch. Everyone loved their meal. A lot of students ordered Pad Thai. After lunch the Thai buddies accompanied the students to the King's International Garden. They spent the entire afternoon at this garden. It is very large and there is a lot of things to see. The students shared some of their pictures and they were absolutely beautiful
Greg and I went with Pi Jip and Khun Anan to pick up Bri from Chiang Mai University. We met at the School of Humanities where we met Aj Mike and Aj Ann. Every student was sitting at a table waiting for the arrival of their Khun Mae and Khun Pa. We took pictures, conversed a little while and then we picked up Bri’s luggage and went back to Pi Jip’s house to get Bri unpacked and settled in. Her bedroom was prepared very nicely. After Bri was given an orientation to the house and their routine we went to the SomTum Restaurant at Soi Tantawan. We had several kinds of SomTum as well as Thai BBQ chicken and pork. Everything was great.
After lunch we went to the Airport mall for ice cream. Yes, ice cream. I do not know the last time I ate ice cream
After the movie we went to a restaurant that serves rice soup with pork balls. It is very good but again not to be on my diet. We also had pork strips that were very tasty. We are so excited to find out that Pi Jip’s family is planning a trip to USA the last 2 weeks of May, 2014. We are going to have so much fun planning out their vacation. Everyone is looking forward to this vacation.
Greg and I returned back to the dorm before the students. I am starting to get a sore throat and I feel like a cold is coming on. I went to bed shortly after our return and Greg stayed up until the students arrived home. Boy, were they noisy. They had so many stories that they wanted to tell. Almost all of the students felt adventurous tonight so they ate water beetles, silk worms, crickets and grasshoppers. Some report they were rather tasty. I am so happy that they had a good time. I knew they would.
