Today we got up around 7:45 with breakfast at 8am. Breakfast was light this morning. Toast, bananas, and rice soup. The students conducted a health screening for the villagers. They obtained height & weights, obtained blood pressures, checked blood glucose and referred them for health education performed by the Ajons. They only had 9 villagers because they just conducted a health fair on the first of the month. Everyone appeared to have a good time this morning. We returned to our homes for an early lunch. We gave our village families hats and gloves as it does get cold in the village. The temperature in the day was in the high 70's (comfortable in jeans and a light shirt) and in the 40’s at night. I found the weather comfortable but some of the students were rather cold.

We returned to BCNC in the early afternoon. The afternoon was free for the students. However, I told them to catch up on laundry, journaling, and to begin their preparation for their presentation on Monday. We left for the Robinson’s Airport mall around 4:00 pm. The students arrived late for the 4:40 movie "The Tourist". Upon their arrival they informed us that the bus they were in had an accident. Apparently, traffic came to a sudden stop and the car behind the bus ran into the rear of the bus. Students took pictures and fortunately no one was injured. The bus suffered little damage but the car, well lets just say you knew they had an accident.

We all got seated, in our assigned seats, before the movie began. Prior to the beginning of the film everyone stands at their seat as the country anthem and a film of the Royal family is shown. Everyone then sits and the movie begins. The movie was in English with Thai subtitles. I enjoyed the movie but then again I enjoy Angelina Jolie. It is pretty cheap to attend the movies in Thailand. The movie ticket was $4 and 2 drinks and popcorn was $4. Can’t beat that can you?

Following the movie we ate at the food court in the mall. Some students ate at the Thai food court and others sought out American type food. We returned to campus by 9 pm because I have a 3 hr. presentation in the morning on "Trauma Care in the USA" and want to get some rest. It is good to be back home to BCNC. Should be able to sleep good tonight.

Glad you were able to get to the village and didn't have to stay long in the hospital. Sounds like the village experience was great...some nice additions!
