Today was a gorgeous day. It started with breakfast at 9 am. We had scrambled eggs, coconut battered chicken, fruit, cereal, toast and fried doughnuts. Following breakfast we headed out to the Rachapleax International Park. Wow, what a beautiful flower garden. This international garden was started in 2006 in honor of the King's 80th birthday. 26 nations have contributed to this park. Each plot is themed after the sponsoring country. January happens to be the best time for flowers. Everything was in full bloom and beautiful. All of the Thai buddies accompanied the MC students. We rode a tram around the gardens. There were 9 stops that we could get off on and could be picked up every 15 minutes there after. Longwood Gardens can not compete with this garden. We spent 2 hrs. at the park and barely saw any of it. Students were on a 2 hr photo shoot. They wanted pictures with every kind of flower and every building structure.

Today was a very warm day. Probably in the 90's. The Thai students had on long sleeved shirts, long jeans, sneakers, some had a light jacket on and umbrellas. They did everything to prevent sun exposure. My students wore short sleeved shirts, shorts/skirts, sandals and no umbrellas. We want to go home tan. The Thais want to stay as light as they can. Everyone found this to be humorous.

Following the garden we left for the Robinson Airport Mall. This is a very large mall with everything imaginable. We went to the mall to try the food court located on the bottom floor of the mall. They had one vendor after another. I think we could eat there everyday for the 3 weeks, and we would never had eaten something more than once. Nong Maew took care of me and I had egg noodle soup (not American style), Som Tum with mixed fruit instead of the shredded green papaya, chai yen and roht dee. Again, the meal was very satisfying.

At 2 pm we all departed the mall (including Jip) and went to the Kad Laung Shopping Market. This is a place we return to every year. There are multiple street markets. We went into the shop where I had my special Thai outfit made in 2009. The owner knows us by name,  She saw me and called my name. She also asked about DaCha, Jamjuree, and Tantawan. The owner's mother is a nurse so she gives the MC students a good bargain on their sales. The girls got some really beautiful Thai attire for tomorrow night's Kohn Toke Dinner.

After our shopping spree the students went back home, ate some dinner and then worked with their buddies in learning a Northern Thai-style dance. I, on the other hand, was taken to Pi Jip's house where we had beverages and snacks. We sat around talking for a while and then we went to the Sizzler. I had a wonderful southwestern chicken dinner with salad bar, baked potato, and chocolate mousse. Needless to say, I had plenty to eat. After dinner we came back to BCNC, watched the students dance and called it a night.

We have a very busy schedule tomorrow so I do not want to be up late. I have some pics for this blog but I will post them later. Have sweet dreams.
